Liverpool and Manchester City are going head-to-head in a race to snap up Crystal Palace talents Eberechi Eze and Adam Wharton, according to transfer insider Ekrem Konur.

Both clubs, along with Tottenham, got a big boost this weekend when news broke that Eze, the dynamic winger, is open to a transfer in 2025.

The 26-year-old, who was a top target for several teams this past summer, stayed put in South London due to his hefty $89 million release clause. However, with Palace’s underwhelming start to the 2024-25 season, Eze is reportedly ready for a fresh challenge.

Eze has managed just one goal in seven appearances for Palace this season but is still a hot prospect for Premier League powerhouses looking to strengthen their attacking lineups.

On the other hand, Liverpool and City are also eyeing a January swoop for 20-year-old midfielder Adam Wharton. Despite Palace’s rough season, the Blackburn Rovers academy graduate has been one of the standout performers, drawing attention from top clubs.

Though both Liverpool and City have already held talks with Palace, there’s a potential sticking point—Palace is reportedly valuing Wharton at a steep €65 million ($71 million), while the two clubs are looking at offers closer to €45 million ($49 million).
